SARRA क्यों बना — Background
उत्तराखंड — देवभूमि — हिमालय की गोद में बसा राज्य। यहाँ हज़ारों झरने (springs), नौले (traditional step-wells), धारे (natural water spouts) और पहाड़ी नदियाँ थीं। लेकिन पिछले कुछ दशकों में:
- Deforestation से groundwater recharge रुका
- Climate Change से rainfall patterns बदले
- Over-exploitation से springs सूखने लगे
- उत्तराखंड के 50% से ज़्यादा traditional springs की discharge कम हो गई
2 अक्टूबर 2023 को Additional Chief Secretary अनंद वर्धन ने announce किया कि उत्तराखंड की संस्कृति और परंपरा में रचे-बसे झरनों और नदियों को संरक्षित और पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए एक unified agency बनाई जाएगी।

Watershed Festival 2025-26
